Ecuador | Cotopaxi

The Cotopaxi volcano is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world at a height of 5897m high, located 28 km south of Quito in Ecuador. What is sometimes said, is that at the top of the volcano, you'd be located the furthest away from the centre of the earth. Since 1738 the volcano erupted more than fifty times, but lately he is slightly less active. Four months ago i climbed up till 5000m, but sadly the top of the mountain was in the clouds. It's not always easy to see a nice sunset with the Cotopaxi, so i was very happy to see it like this when visiting Ecuador one more time!
