dont get me wrong the one with the trees has its own merit and personality. its better in the way, that the central focus is the water tower itself. the trees in this one are almost bowing away for the tower to stand tall and proud, saying, "I am here..."
the reflections, which I've begun to see in other of your work is something you strive to achieve in many of your photos with water...
I agree with you... I always believe that when you take several pictures about one subject, even 150 pics, only one or maximum two are good enough. These two of the water tower were the most interesting, and as they're still quite different i thought to post them both and see which one had more appeal
It's true about the reflections... I always try to look for water on the ground, lakes or the sea to have a reflection if it enhances the subject
I have always been partial to the classic paintings of Whistler and Seurat... their use of color and shadow particularly.
sometimes a series of say 20 photos of the same sugject with different light, color, shadow... can still provoke a response.
I've done series before in my drawings where I'll try to draw the same tree outside my house every few weeks...and then look at them all to see whats different and whats the same.
sorry part of my thought up there just fragmented somewhere else... arg
Maybe you might add some of your paintings to deviant? Now you talk about that specific tree, you could make a collage of several of those paintings... For instance, three trees next to each other seperated by a tiny white o black frame...
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. I do have a few in my coat closet. I should be able to mount to the wall and use some ambient light, and get a fairly crappy shot...
