Vietnam - Hanoi

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam is a city on the move. Past and future are intertwined at this very moment. A city and country taking the next step to further development, but certainly keeping its own cultural elements in account. As it has been done for more than 2000 years, the Vietnamese have taken the best from the countries that tried to subdue them... Chinese, French, Americans... All have come, tried and left. Now, looking to their immediate future, the best will be taken from the global world, but in a distinct Vietnamese way. This photograph shows todays' Hanoi. The famous Hoan Kiem lake and its turtle tower, modern buildings that are still in a small minority as well as a loving couple, enjoying the here and now.
