Thailand - Spaceship II by lux69aeterna Thailand - Spaceship II by lux69aeterna
This was taken in the Millenium Hilton hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. I especially like the curves and futuristic look it gives. As this hotel has been modernized in 2006 it's filled with design and modern architecture.

Nikon D300, Tokina 12-24mm, B + W UV filter.

That is one kick-ass hotel. That looks like a pretty long drop though. I'm getting shivers.

If i remember well there are about 10 stairs, but it is fine :) In the hotel we have in Shanghai there are about 27 stairs like this, but it is less appealing for a photograph :)

Wow, it really doesn't look like something that really exists, which is the coolest part. Love the standpoint, feels more like a space-age meeting table from this angle. The blue helps ;D

aaaah the symmetry :D reminds me of 70's starship designs. one question: there are no handrails or anything protecting the guests from falling?

There is not :) But this thingie is very wide, at leat a meter... Nobody would fall. And as thai people are not suicidal, it is not necessary. In comparison everything is overprotected in China, people love to jump from buildings way too happily :p

Doesn't look like the typical Thai hotel. Indeed futuristic and classy simple.

Thank you Sam! Indeed, not very typical :) It was a very nice hotel... Mostly because you could go outside at the 31st floor, and have a view over Bangkok and the Chao Phraya river... Melancholic thoughts about Bangkok now.
