Artist's Comments

This is a night shot of the Palace of Fine arts in San Francisco, which dates back to 1915. It was designed by Bernard Maybeck for the Panama - Pacific exposition and has clear influences from Greek and Roman architecture.

Nikon D300, Tokina 12-24mm, B + W UV filter.

 Great idea Sébastien! I think I can find some images of mine that can be rotated similarly... but I have never thought of it... Well done as usual! :)

Hmmm... how it could have been if the water was calm and the reflections were clear?

Actually i just noticed with the thumbnails that weren't rotated yet that it didn't look bad like this, that's how i got the idea. And very nice you like it! :)

Sadly we were there 5-10 min too late, i would've prefer it with a more enlightened sky... Well, you can't have everything in life... :p

Yeh... Usually when I go somewhere to take night shots I try to arrive at the place of taking pictures 10-20 mins before illumination is on :) But that is not always possible. And when you are in another country staying 1, 2 or 3 days in a big city you have to rush from one point to another planning the most optimal routs :)

That's what i usually do, but this time i wasn't really coming for photography, i hadn't planned anything and i also wasn't driving... So maybe next time i'll prepare a bit more.

I'll try to make some new shots here in Vietnam, as i haven't posted much of it yet...

Take care and enjoy your day!

I'll be waiting ;)
Thank you! Take care!

I understand the butterfly effect but I think we lose the real beauty of this shot at that angle Seb.
