Costa Rica - Green Vine Snake by lux69aeterna Costa Rica - Green Vine Snake by lux69aeterna
The green vine snake or Oxybelis Fulgidus can be found in Latin America. It grows up to 2m long and is 2cm thick. It is an arboreal snake, so it's mostly found high up in the canopy. Their most favourite preys are mice, rats and lizards. And last but not least, it is a non-venomous snake. I would not close in to 45cm if he had been!

Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica.

"Expression" and "Snake" are two words that you don't really seem to go together, but I'll admit, this one's a cross between scared and annoyed. Heckled?

:D Thank you a to for your kind words :) I guess taking photographs at 35cm from the beast for 2-3 minutes annoyed the animal, slighty

Or scared it silly! I've NEVER seen such a photo as this before, of a snake before! They simply don't show emotion, like, EVER! LOL You should get a prize for this. Really wonderful, and rare.

Excellent shot!

However, I feel compelled to suggest that it may actually be a parrot snake (Leptophis ahaetulla), on account of the large eyes and blunt snout.  The ranges overlap, and both are slender, arboreal colubrids.  Parrot snakes are also very geographically variable in color.  If you have a side-view of the snake's head, I could definitively ID it for you.
