The mysterious tempel of Bayon with it's 216 heads symbolyzing the Boddhisatva Avalokiteshvara, in other words, the Boddhisatva of compassion. A Boddhisatva is a person reaching nirvana or enlightment, but that decides to come back to earth to show the way to the believers, the way to nirvana and the end of suffering, the end of the cycle of reincarnation.
As said there are 216 heads, 54 towers with each 4 heads. When you add the numbers 2,1 and 6 you have the number 9. Adding the number 5 and 4, you get 9 as well. 9 is the "lucky" number in Buddhism.
